Practice English by exploring Yaeyama through various topics.

Yaeyama Insight is preparing a new English learning program based on a simple idea:

Think Yaeyama, Speak English.

Instead of learning English only through textbooks and familiar classroom topics, we will use the real world around us — tourism, agriculture, culture, the environment, local communities, island life, and the future of Yaeyama — as our learning material.

You will read, listen, think, write, discuss, and speak in English while exploring different topics related to Yaeyama.

The goal is not simply to study English.

It is to develop the ability to use English to think about the world around us and to share our ideas with people beyond Yaeyama.

We are currently preparing the learning materials, discussion platform, and other parts of the program.

Yaeyama Insightでは、新しい英語学習プログラムを準備しています。

その基本にあるのは、

Think Yaeyama, Speak English.

というシンプルな考え方です。

教科書や一般的な英会話のテーマだけを使って英語を学ぶのではなく、観光、農業、文化、環境、地域社会、島の暮らし、そしてこれからの八重山など、私たちの身近にあるリアルなテーマを英語学習の教材として使います。

八重山について読み、聞き、考え、書き、議論し、そして英語で話す。

そんな学びを通して、単に「英語を勉強する」のではなく、

自分たちの地域や社会について考え、それを英語で世界の人々と共有する力

を身につけることを目指します。

現在、学習教材やディスカッションのためのプラットフォームなど、プログラムの準備を進めています。
